Makakilo fire damages garage and home
A small garage fire destroyed a refrigerator and caused minor smoke damage to a home in Makakilo last night.
Neighbors helped a man out of the home and tried to fight the fire in the garage of the house at 92-1080 Makakilo Drive, said fire Capt. Gary Lum. Callers reported smoke coming out of the garage at 5:48 p.m.
Damage is estimated at $5,000 to $8,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
