Tulane added to UH football schedule

Tulane will replace Oregon State on Hawaii’s 2011 football schedule athletics director Jim Donovan announced today.

The Warriors and Green Wave will meet on Nov. 26, 2011 at Aloha Stadium.

Hawaii’s game with Oregon State was moved to the 2014 season at Oregon State’s request.

The Warriors will now play six non-conference games in 2011. The schedule includes road games at Washington (Sept. 10) and UNLV (Sept. 17) and home games against Colorado (Sept. 3), UC Davis (Sept. 24) and Tulane (Nov. 26). UH will also play Brigham Young in 2011 on a date to be determined. The Cougars fill a void left with Boise State’s impending departure from the Western Athletic Conference in 2011.

Tulane, out of Conference USA, finished 3-9 overall in 2009. This will be the fourth all-time meeting between the teams on the football field with the series tied, 2-2. The teams last met in the inaugural Hawai‘i Bowl in 2002 with the Green Wave defeating the Warriors, 36-28.
