A fund established for the Waipio Little League National Champions has grown to more than $65,000, according to First Hawaiian Bank Vice Chairman Raymond Ono.

The fund was set up by First Hawaiian Bank to help the team members and their families offset the financial costs of traveling during the nearly month-long tournament.

The proceeds from the fund, which started on Aug. 30, will go directly to the team. All First Hawaiian Bank branches will continue to accept donations to the fund until Sept. 17.

A check will be presented to the team during half-time at the University of Hawaii on Sept. 25.
