» The Scenic Hawaii 2009 Betty Crocker Landscape Awards for excellence went to:

Flores Garden and Matthews Garden (Private Gardens category); Project Hookipa Beach Park, and the Restoration Project at Washington Place (Community Gardens); Hawaiian, Japanese and Chinese Cultural Gardens at Honolulu Airport; The Kam’s Residence Living Wall (Professional); Cactus Garden at Kapiolani Community College, and Kapalama Main Gate Garden at Kamehameha Schools (Xeriscape).

Recipients of the Volunteer of the Year Awards went to the Aikahi Playground Park Volunteers and The Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden – Propagation Group.

» Global Smart Infrastructures awarded $10,000 to the Group 70 Foundation for sustainable development, architecture, planning and environmental services, interior design and assets management.
