Police look for suspect in Hauula beach sex assault

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman Sept. 13 at a Hauula beach.

Police said the man approached a woman at about 12:01 a.m. while she was walking on the beach opposite 53-936 Kamehameha Highway.

The woman tried to flee, but the man pushed her to the ground, sexually assaulted her and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

The man is described as about 23 to 25 years old, between 5-feet 9-inches and 6 feet tall, weighing about 150 to 170 pounds, with a slim build, with brown shoulder-length hair, possibly worn in a ponytail, with stubble on his face. He was wearing a white T-shirt and basketball-type shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cell phone.
