» The U.S. Conference of Mayors recognized Honolulu as one of 12 large cities promoting sustainability in its Mayors and Climate Protection Best Practices 2009 competition. Honolulu’s entry, titled "Sustainable Actions Tied to Local Culture," highlighted its 21st Century Ahupua’a program.

» Ray Soon, president of Solutions Pacific, an independent consulting firm, was recently elected president of the Historic Hawai’i Foundation.
