"How to Research Your Family History" will be offered at 11 a.m. next Saturday at the Hawaii Kai Public Library by a member of the Honolulu County Genealogical Society. Fran McFarland will demonstrate how to use "AncestryLibrary" and "HeritageQuest," two free electronic genealogy databases offered by public libraries, as well as other online research tools. McFarland is also a member of the Utah Genealogical Association and has assisted people in researching their roots or in establishing blood quantum for Hawaiian entitlement programs. Get inspired for holiday season

Volunteers from the three Oahu associations for Family and Community Education will be conducting Christmas idea demonstrations starting Tuesday. The demos are approximately an hour long and will feature inexpensive and easy-to-make gifts, decorations and food ideas for the holidays.

Food samples for tasting at selected sites are donated by the South, West and Windward Oahu FCE clubs. Call 247-0421, ext. 106.
