A kitchen argument in Kalihi led to the stabbing of a 22-year-old woman and the arrest of a 27-year-old man for attempted murder this morning, police said.

After the argument, the man followed the 22-year-old woman to her room and stabbed her with a sharp instrument about 3:25 a.m., police said.

Family members intervened and detained the man. Police were called and officers arrested the man on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.

Police said the quarrel was over items being used in the kitchen.
