Women in wartime

A celebration of women’s roles during wartime is the theme of the annual Distinctive Women in Hawaiian History Program on Saturday in Waikiki. The program at the Hawaii Convention Center features lectures, traditional Hawaiian storytelling, chants, dramatic performances, film and slam poetry. Registration is $55 for adults; $40 those ages 13 to 21. For more information, visit www.distinctivewomenhawaii.org.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser would like to help you announce the birth of your baby on the Ohana page of the newspaper and on our website, www.staradvertiser.com.

Please submit a color or black-and-white photo of the baby alone or that can be easily cropped to only show the baby, along with a copy of the baby’s birth certificate and a signed copy of the Star-Advertiser birth announcement form, available at staradvertiser.com.

Holiday craft guide seeks entries

Tis the season for craft fairs, and the Today section is planning a guide with listings for events happening for the winter holiday period.

For a free listing, send information on the name of the event, sponsors, date, time, place, contact information and other details to craftfairs@staradvertiser.com.

The deadline to submit listings is Nov. 5. The guide will be published on Nov. 21.
