A 27-year-old man was arrested in Waipahu yesterday afternoon after he threatened his fiancee’s mother with kitchen knives.

The suspect previously lived with the fiancee’s family. Yesterday, the man got into an argument with the mother, 49, and threatened to kill her while holding five kitchen knives to her head, police said.

The suspect then threw the victim to the ground, threw down the knives, bit her and then punched her in the head twice before fleeing.

He was located a short time later and arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and abuse of a household member.
