A Schofield Barracks soldier died in Germany of injuries sustained in a non-combat incident in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense said today.

Staff Sgt. Aracely Gonzalez O’Malley, 31, of Brawley, Calif., died Oct. 22 at Homburg, Germany, of injuries sustained on Oct. 12 at Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan.

She was assigned to the 307th Integrated Theater Signal Battalion, 516th Signal Brigade, 311th Signal Command, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
