A bunch of familiar junior faces will take on a team from Japan in the fourth annual Asia Pacific Junior Cup, formerly known as the USA Hawaii Japan Junior Cup. This year’s event is Nov. 11-13 at Waikoloa’s Kings’ Course.

Teams are made up of 10 boys and six girls. They team up for four-ball, singles and foursome matches. Golfers for both teams qualify by earning points at select events throughout the year.

Hawaii’s team members are: Cyd Okino, Eimi Koga, Kacie Komoto, Cassy Isagawa, Alina Ching, Alice Kim, Alex Chiarella, Reo Saito, Michael Fan, Ryan Kuroiwa, Scott Yamashita, Aaron Kunitomo, Lorens Chan, Jonah Fonacier, Andre Bedard and Cole Yamane.

Japan won two of the first three cups. Spectators are encouraged to attend, with matches starting at 9:30 a.m. the first two days and 7 a.m. the third. Admission is free.

There is a Junior-Am on Nov. 14 at the Kings’ Course. Golfers can register by calling 808-886-7888 on the Big Island. Cost is $175 per player.

The Cup is sponsored by Hilton Grand Vacations and benefits the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association. A portion of the Junior-Am also benefits Waikoloa Foundation.
