‘Iron Chef’ host named new ‘Five-0’ villian

CBS today said it will bring back super villain Wo Fat to its rebooted “Hawaii Five-0” and has cast former “Iron Chef America” and “Dancing With the Stars” standout Mark Dacascos for the role.

Dacascos, 46, was born in Honolulu and spent a lot of time at family homes in Kalihi and Kaimuki until he was 6, when his family moved to the Mainland.

He’s a martial arts expert who made his name in hard core action films. But he also was in the 2006 film “Only the Brave,” the story of the 100th Batallion/442nd Regimental Combat Team made up of Japanese-Americans from Hawaii and California.

Last fall he was on “Dancing With the Stars” and danced 52 days without a day off before he was eliminated. When he hosted “Iron Chef America” for the Food Network, he was dubbed “The Chairman.”

In the original “Five-0,” Wo Fat was played by Khigh Dheigh and was the top nemeisis of Steve McGarrett from the pilot in 1968 to the final episode — “Woe to Wo Fat” — in 1980.
