Obama touts Hawaii Democrats on morning radio
President Barack Obama has touted two Hawaii Democratic candidates in a morning radio interview.
During a four-minute prerecorded session Tuesday on KSSK-AM, Obama urged support for gubernatorial contender Neil Abercrombie and Colleen Hanabusa, the party’s nominee for the 1st Congressional District.
He says Democratic voters are closing an "enthusiasm gap" with a more energized Republican electorate.
Obama also says he will return to Hawaii around the Christmas holidays, in Kailua, to rest and see family members. He says he loves the area, including a secluded beach at the nearby Marine Corps base.
He says he will definitely get some shave ice and "probably hit a couple of golf courses."
