A 46-year-old man turned himself in to police today in connection with the burglary of his neighbor’s home on the North Shore.
Police said about 8 p.m. yesterday a man at 59-420 Pupukea Road opened the door after hearing yelling outside. He saw one man with his neighbor.
The neighbor’s accomplice, 40-year-old Waialua man, struck the victim with a pipe, police said. When the victim ran back into his home, the man smashed the window, went in, and attacked the victim again, police said. The neighbor then entered the home.
A struggle ensued and the pipe was taken from the first man that entered the home.
Both suspects fled, but the Waialua man returned and damaged a second victim’s vehicle and threatened a victim with a knife, police said.
Police arrested the Waialua man at the scene about 9 p.m. on suspicion of terroristic threatening, first-degree burglary, and criminal property damage.
The Pupukea neighbor turned himself in at the Wahiawa police station about 2:10 p.m. today. He was booked on suspicion of first-degree burglary and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
