A 26-year-old woman was charged today with making off with an employee’s tips from a cash jar.

Maile Eberly, of 333 Keahole St., bought a cup of joe and tried to leave the store with cash from the tip jar about 11 a.m. yesterday, police said.

A 29-year-old woman who works at the store demanded her money back and the two women struggled, police said.

Police arrested Eberly nearby at Hawaii Kai Towne Center.

She was charged today with second-degree robbery and is being held on $15,000 bail.
