Four suspects arrested in attempted robbery and assault at Kapolei bus stop
Four men, one armed with a knife, attacked and tried to rob a 19-year-old man of his laptop computer at a Kapolei bus stop early yesterday morning, police said.
Six teenagers, ages 14 to 19, were waiting at the bus stop near a Kapolei shopping center when four men approached them, police said.
The men demanded the 19-year-old man give them his computer and then punched and kicked him when he refused, police said. A 23-year-old suspect who was armed with a knife allegedly lunged at an 18-year-old man, who suffered a cut finger.
Police said the teenagers at the bus stop ran to the shopping center and the suspects ran to their vehicle.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle at Kamokila Road and Farrington Highway and arrested three suspects, ages 19, 21, and 23, from Waianae, Makakilo and Kapolei. Another 21-year-old man turned himself in to the Kapolei Police Station.
The two men and one of the suspects were taken to the hospital where they were treated and released for injuries.
