Police say runaway teen made up kidnapping story
A 16-year-old girl told police she had been kidnapped, but later admitted she ran away from home, police said.
Police began investigating the case after the girl failed to return home from school.
When she was found, she told officers she had been kidnapped, but recanted during the course of the investigation.
She was arrested in Waipahu yesterday evening as a runaway.
