Aviator is hurt in fall from glider

A man was seriously injured yesterday after he apparently fell from a canopy glider near the Wilson Tunnel.

The mishap occurred just after 8 a.m. The man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken in serious condition to a local trauma center, according to Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

A canopy glider is an aircraft similar to a small hot-air balloon.

Man is arrested in illegal entry

A 49-year-old man walked into the room of a 23-year-old Punchbowl-area woman at 10:20 p.m. Saturday and was arrested for alleged unauthorized entry into a dwelling, police said.

The woman yelled at the man and then ran to another room to call police. The man then allegedly entered another room in the home, where he was confronted by a 22-year-old woman who told him to leave, police said.

The man walked out of the home and was later discovered and arrested by police.

Bicyclist uses box cutter in robbery

A man on a bicycle robbed a 22-year-old man and threatened him with a box cutter as the man walked home from work Saturday in Kalihi, police said.

The man was not injured in the 4:15 p.m. robbery, police said.

The suspect, described as a man in his mid-20s, fled on a bicycle.

Woman reports sexual assault

A 19-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted at a Leeward-area school by a 21-year-old man early Saturday morning, police said.

The woman said she was assaulted between 2 and 2:30 a.m.

Police had made no arrest as of yesterday.
