Kaimuki outlasts Lahainaluna in OT in D-II football semifinal

Kaimuki scored in the closing seconds to tie it and then won it in overtime on a missed extra-point attempt in outlasting Lahainaluna 28-27 Friday at War Memorial Stadium on Wailuku, Maui.

With 15 seconds left in regulation, Nahoa Spencer scored on a 1-yard sneak and Keoki Kaiahua kicked the extra point to tie it at 21.

In the overtime, each team is given the ball at the opposing team’s 20. Kaimuki scored on Chester Sua’s 3-yard run and Kaiahua kicked the extra point.

Lahainaluna scored on the first play with Jostin Carbajal’s 20-yard run. But after a false start penalty on Lahainaluna’s two-point conversion attempt, Lahainaluna’s 25-yard extra-point kick went wide left.

Sua carried 33 times for 229 yards and scored three touchdowns.
