Colt Brennan has successful surgery

Former Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan underwent surgery today to repair a fractured left clavicle at The Queen’s Medical Center, according to his father, Terry Brennan.

Terry Brennan said his son had been "heavily sedated" since being injured in a two-car accident the past Friday on the Big Island. He suffered a punctured lung, and fractures to four ribs, left clavicle, cheek bone and eye socket.

Terry Brennan said entered the operating room with "both eyes open, somewhat talking to us." He said the 75-minute procedure was "a success."

Brennan already has had cosmetic surgery on a "4-inch gash" on his cheekbone, the father said, and his right ear needed stitches to close a long cut.
