Man dies from injuries after alleged assault in August

A 47-year-old man who was severely injured when he was pushed over a bench in Waipahu in August died yesterday from neck and spinal injuries, the city Medical Examiner’s Office said.

The manner of the man’s death was ruled as a homicide, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The victim argued with a 58-year-old man at 6:35 p.m. Aug. 4, and the suspect, fearing he was going to be in a fight, pushed the victim over a bench, police said. The 47-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to a hospital, where he died yesterday at 3 p.m., police said.
