No jewelry. No earrings. No hats (and, on the occasion that they are permitted, the hat must have the Aggies logo).

Unfortunately, the Aggies have had no luck.

Injuries and inconsistency have doomed the Aggies to their 50th consecutive season without a bowl invitation, the longest drought among FBS members.

Since starting the 2009 season with a 3-3 record, the Aggies have lost 16 of their past 18 games. They are 2-9 overall and 1-6 in the Western Athletic Conference entering today’s game against Hawaii.

Not even the addition of offensive coordinator Mike Dunbar, who had run the offenses at Minnesota and California, provided a boost. The Aggies are 117th (out of 120 FBS schools) in scoring, averaging 14.91 points per game. In contrast, the Warriors are averaging 20.3 first-half points.

This season, the Aggies have played nine players who are 2010 high school graduates, and seven of them have started. One of them — Andrew Manley of Leilehua High — is expected to make his third consecutive start today.
