Christenson in top form at Alegre

Micah Christenson is a dream come true for the Kamehameha Warriors.

His fantasy-like stat line — 26 points, 13 rebounds, five blocks and five steals — powered Kamehameha in a 71-57 win over Kailua last night in the opening round of the James Alegre Invitational at Radford High School.

Kamehameha improved to 2-0 in nonconference play and will meet Farrington, which defeated Baldwin 48-44, in the semifinals tonight.

"I like the unselfishness of our team offensively. We try to find each other," Kamehameha coach Jesse Nakanishi said, noting that his team could still improve defensively despite amassing 18 steals. "We’re trying to find the right combinations. The tempo we’re trying to play, we need to play nine, 10 guys."

Coming off a 60-43 win over Punahou last week, the Governors started slowly before rallying past the Bears. Lancelot Williams had 18 points and 17 rebounds as the Govs dominated the boards with a 32-20 edge.
