Robyn Ah Mow-Santos, Lindsey Berg and Patsy Mink were voted into the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame yesterday as the Class of 2011. They will be inducted at a banquet March 1 at Honolulu Country Club.

Ah Mow-Santos, a McKinley High School graduate, starred as a volleyball setter at the University of Hawaii and played on three U.S. Olympic teams, including the team that won the silver medal at the 2008 Games in Beijing. She was a two-time first team All-American at UH.

Berg was also a world-class volleyball setter. She graduated from Punahou and went on to star at Minnesota. She also played on the silver-medal-winning 2008 U.S. Olympic team.

As a U.S. House representative from Hawaii’s 2nd district, Mink was the principal author of Title IX.

The 1972 legislation mandated that no person be subjected to sexual discrimination related to federally funded educational opportunities, including athletics.

The law was renamed the "Patsy T. Mink Equal Opportunity in Education Act" in honor of the Maui High School and University of Hawaii alumna who died in 2002.
