Man hit by semi-trailer truck near Honokaa
A man died after being hit by an 18-wheel semi-trailer truck on the Big Island early this morning, the Hawaii County Fire Department said.
The accident happened at about 1:49 a.m near Honokaa on Highway 19 between Mailbox Road and Kalopa Road, according to a news release.
Big Island police are investigating. The accident happened in a rural area with no fixed lighting. There was no fog or rain at the time of the accident.
