WHAT’S IN STORE

Cristallo wirebag boasts colors, versatility

Anteprima/Wirebag is launching a new tote-type Cristallo Fiocco*R wirebag tomorrow for the holiday season.

The bag features a crystal bow motif, based on a popular series of party clutches and minihandbags.

The large Cristallo Fiocco*R is lightweight and spacious, making it practical as a daily bag, while retaining an elegant, feminine look perfect for the transition to evening parties. Costs range from $403 to $474, depending on colors that range from matte black to silver-pink and silver-gold. There are also smaller versions, priced from $343 to $396.

A detachable chain and folding handle allow users to wear the bag four ways: as a shoulder bag, cross-body bag, handbag and clutch.

Those who spend $550 or more at the Royal Hawaiian Center (942-0808) or Ala Moana (983-3886) boutiques will receive a Christmas "Splendore" charm, valued at $60. There are four holiday styles to choose from, featuring such motifs as a teddy bear, penguin, snowman and Christmas tree.

Retailers form promotion group

Windward merchants are banding together to encourage consumers to "Shop Where You Love." The Kaneohe Business Group teamed with the Kailua Chamber of Commerce to create the program, designed to help small, independent businesses.

Start with a visit to www.ILoveWindward.com for lists of participating merchants and special offers. There, a 100 percent cotton canvas "I Love Windward" tote is offered for $9.99 and comes with a membership card good for the special offers. The bags, great for stowing new buys, are also available at Little People Hawaii at Windward Mall, Cinnamon’s Restaurant in Kailua, the Kailua Information Center, Lanikai Bath and Body and Lanikai Home + Style.

Area businesses are welcome to submit promotions and special offers to the website.

Shoe store to aid poor children

Airwalk has launched an initiative, "The Good Shoe Project," designed to help those in need. Through Feb. 14, with every purchase of a pair of Airwalk’s exclusive Hope Shoe at Payless stores or online, the retailer will give a free pair of children’s shoes to an impoverished child in Central America. The shoes sell for $19.99.

Pearl retailer opens new store

In time for holiday treasure hunting, Maui Divers Jewelry has opened a new flagship store inside the DFS Galleria Waikiki. The store will feature the company’s signature Tahitian black pearls, South Sea white and golden pearls, Tahitian Mother of Pearl, freshwater pearls, Australian opals, diamonds and other gemstone jewelry.

Gold charms and pendants featuring Hawaiian flowers and Pacific Ocean-theme marine life and heirloom jewelry of 14-karat gold and black enamel are also featured. Prices start at $50 for sterling silver jewelry to $20,000 for strands of Tahitian black pearls.

For information, call 943-8304 or go to www.mauidivers.com.

In addition, renovations on the Maui Divers Jewelry Design Center have been completed to include a new video detailing the company’s history, a timeline display and new jewelry production equipment. The 1520 Liona St. site is open for daily tours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
