Police arrested two people when a stolen car was stopped for running a red light in Makakilo Thursday morning.

A patrol officer witnessing the red-light violation about 9:18 a.m. ran a check and discovered the car was reported stolen. During the pursuit, the stolen vehicle sideswiped another vehicle, police said.

The stolen vehicle was abandoned and the suspects were arrested while walking on the sidewalk.

Arrested on Nohona Street were a Waianae man, 31, and an Aiea woman, 35.
