Police looking for gunman in latest armed robbery

Honolulu police are looking for a suspect who held up a Kalihi business at gunpoint last night.

Police said the robbery happened at about 7:20 p.m. They did not give a description of the suspect or an exact location of the business.

It’s not clear if this robbery is connected to other recent armed robberies.

Police said a gunman robbed a downtown business yesterday morning using a silver semi-automatic pistol at about 5:20 a.m. A witness heard the sound of a gunshot and saw a man fleeing the area, police said.

On Saturday, three men robbed a convenience store on Kalakaua Avenue at about 12:40 p.m. and brandished either a handgun or BB gun, police said.

The men took cash and an employee’s purse and fled in a stolen car, police said.

Another armed robbery was reported Friday when a gunman held up Soon’s Kal-Bi Drive-In at the Salt Lake Shopping Center.

Police said the suspect, a man in his 30s, entered the back of the restaurant at 9:25 p.m. after it closed and pulled out a handgun.
