Man dies after Waipahu stabbing

An alcohol-fueled argument in Waipahu early yesterday morning ended with a 27-year-old man stabbed to death, police said.

The victim had been drinking with a 29-year-old man at about 1 a.m. yesterday when he was stabbed.

He died at an area hospital, police said.

Police made no arrests but were investigating the case as second-degree murder.

Crash kills motorcyclist on Kauai

A motorcyclist died after a crash early yesterday morning in Hanamaulu, Kauai, a county news release said.

The accident happened at about 1:13 a.m. on Laukona Street near Ohia Street.

KPD’s Traffic Safety Unit investigated the accident, and believes excessive speed might have been a factor, the county said. It was Kauai’s first traffic fatality of 2011.

The name of the 27-year-old male victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Man sought in Waikiki sexual assault

A 36-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted for several hours Friday in a Waikiki hotel by an unknown man.

Police were looking for a man in his 30 or 40s.

The woman said she was sexually assaulted between noon and 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Stolen car, glass pipe bring arrest

Police officers responding to an alarm at a Waianae-area high school discovered a 43-year-old man allegedly driving a stolen vehicle that had a glass pipe with drug residue on the front seat, police said.

The front license plate on the vehicle had been altered, police said.

The man was seen on the campus at 4:55 a.m. Friday and was arrested for investigation of driving a stolen vehicle and drug possession at 10:55 p.m. yesterday, police said.

Police returned the stolen vehicle to its owner.
