Idaho defeats Hawaii women’s basketball team 72-48
The Hawaii women’s basketball team remained winless in Western Athletic Conference play after a 72-48 loss at Idaho today.
In the first of five straight road games, UH (6-10, 0-3 WAC) shot 27.5 percent from the field at 40 percent at the free-throw line at the Cowan Spectrum.
Freshman forward Kamilah Jackson was the lone bright spot for the Rainbow Wahine with 16 points and 17 rebounds, including 11 boards on the offensive end. No other UH player scored more than six points.
UH’s second-leading scorer, senior point guard Keisha Kanekoa, was held to two points and committed five turnovers.
The Wahine trailed by single digits at halftime, but were outscored by 15 in the second half.
Idaho (9-6, 2-1 WAC) hit 10 3-pointers, compared to just two for UH.
