Woman dies of injuries suffered when her kart crashed with pickup
A Waianae woman who was critically hurt when her kart crashed head-on with a pickup truck in Makaha has died.
Police traffic investigators said they were notified today that the woman had died.
The woman, 41, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition after the 7:17 a.m. crash on Tuesday.
Police said she was heading south on Makaha Valley Road when she made a right turn onto Kauaili Road, apparently making the turn wide to avoid a large puddle in the intersection.
The wide turn caused her to crash into a black Ford pickup. The 28-year-old woman driving the pickup was not hurt, police said.
