The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman killed when her kart crashed head-on into a pickup truck in Makaha on Tuesday as Janette Ellis, 41, of Waianae.

Ellis died yesterday at the Queen¹s Medical Center from injuries sustained in the crash

Police said Ellis was heading south on Makaha Valley Road when she made a right turn onto KaulailiRoad, apparently making the turn wide to avoid a large puddle in the intersection

The wide turn caused her to crash into a black Ford pickup truck, police said. The 28-year-old woman driving the pickup was not hurt.
