Firefighters rescue visitor who broke her ankle at Makapuu Point Trail
Firefighters rescued a woman in her early 20s who broke her ankle while hiking off the Makapuu Point Trail about 10:20 a.m.Thursday.
A group of nine people from the mainland were hiking when the woman and several others went off the trail. She slipped and broke her leg.
Honolulu fire Capt. Terry Seelig said a fire SUV picked her up in a metal basket and took her to paramedics waiting nearby.
