Makaha man arrested for allegedly robbing girlfriend, threatening daughter

Officers arrested a 34-year-old Makaha man who allegedly threatened his live-in girlfriend with a knife and held his 14-year-old daughter against her will when she tried to intervene, police said.

The incident happened at 1:10 a.m. yesterday after the man and his 39-year-old girlfriend argued over money. Police say the man used a knife to threaten the woman and take her backpack.

The man’s daughter tried to intervene, but police say her father threatened her and refused to allow her to leave the home.

The man left with the backpack, but returned at about 11 p.m. last night, police said. He fled in a vehicle but was located on Farrington Highway and arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and robbery.
