A 25-year-old man who escaped from the Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health center was arrested at Castle Medical Center today after spending four days on the lam.

The Ewa man, who had been reported missing on Jan. 30, was found at the hospital at 5 p.m. He was booked on suspicion of second-degree escape at the Kaneohe substation and was en route to the main station tonight.

The man had been acquitted by insanity of felony assault last June, according to the state criminal justice database. He was also convicted of petty theft and trespassing in 2009.

CORRECTION: Police arrested an escapee from the Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health center last week. An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that he escaped from the  State Hospital in Kaneohe.
