City asks residents to conserve water from Red Hill to Pearl City
The city is asking residents and business from Red Hill to Pearl City to save water as crews fix two damaged pressurized sewer pipes called force mains.
The water conservation effort is due to last through tomorrow.
Authorities are asking that people avoid excessively using toilets, sinks, dishwashers, washing machines and showers. The city has informed several large industrial water users in the area.
One force main broke Friday and the other on Saturday. City crews are working to remove wastewater upstream of the breaks and redirect it to the Waipahu Sewage Pump Station.
