Snorkeler, 35, dies in Waimanalo
A 35-year-old man died in Waimanalo Saturday after getting into distress while snorkeling with his family, police said.
The man was snorkeling around 2:45 p.m. and became unresponsive. He was taken to a nearby hospital and did not recover, police said.
Hotel room robbery suspect caught
A 31-year-old man who allegedly robbed a hotel room in a Waikiki resort Saturday afternoon was arrested after he was confronted by a housekeeper, police said.
The man allegedly stole several items and fled but was detained by hotel security following the 1:45 p.m. theft, police said.
Police officers allegedly found the stolen items on the man and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree burglary.
Alleged intruder arrested in custody
A 34-year-old man who allegedly entered the Kaneohe home of a 63-year-old woman and threw uncooked rice on her carpet Friday night was arrested the next day while in police custody, police said.

The man was being held in the Kaneohe police substation on an unrelated incident Saturday when an officer suspected he might have been involved in the rice-throwing incident.
That intrusion occurred at 5:15 p.m. Friday, police said.
The 63-year-old woman and a witness identified the suspect from a photographic lineup, and the man was arrested for investigation of unauthorized entry into a dwelling, police said.
