AOP coach lives up to promise
Academy of the Pacific boys basketball coach Wally Marciel has asked much of his team this season.
He also promised that he would shave his head if the Dolphins qualified in Division I of the Hawaiian Airlines/Hawaii High School Athletic Association State Championships. They did that on Saturday with a 37-36 win over Punahou.
Yesterday, AOP forward Marshall Gourley put the blade to his coach’s skull after school on campus.
"It feels good," Marciel said.
His team faces Roosevelt in a tourney opener today at Farrington’s gym.
