UH women’s basketball team loses at Louisiana Tech
The Hawaii women’s basketball team ended its three-game road trip with a 76-50 defeat at Western Athletic Conference leader Louisiana Tech today in Ruston, La.
Seventh-place UH (9-17, 3-10 WAC) trailed just 30-25 at halftime but was outscored 46-25 in the second half.
A game after snapping an 18-game WAC road losing streak at New Mexico State, the Rainbow Wahine were unable to build on that success. The Wahine were undone by 27 turnovers as the Lady Techsters (19-5, 11-0) collected 15 steals. LaTech won its 12th straight game.
Lady Techsters forward Adrienne Johnson, the WAC’s leading scorer, met her average with 22 points and seven rebounds.
Freshman forward Kamilah Jackson led UH with 12 points and 10 rebounds, improving her Wahine freshman double-double record to 11 games.
UH wraps up its regular-season schedule with a three-game homestand, starting Feb. 24 against San Jose State.
