A man was critically injured in Salt Lake when a drinking partner allegedly stabbed him Tuesday night.  

The victim, who had several stab wounds to his chest and stomach, was taken to the hospital, according dispatch reports by paramedics.

Officers arrested the suspect at the scene. 

Police said the stabbing began with two men drinking in the driveway on Salt Lake Boulevard between Wanaka and Maluna streets about 9 p.m.

Paramedics were sent to 3844 Salt Lake Blvd. and took a 35-year-old man to the hospital in critical condition with stab wounds, a spokesman for the Emergency Medical Services said.  

Police opened an attempted murder case.
