City agency warns of bogus ‘water testers’

Honolulu Board of Water Supply officials want the public to know that board employees are not conducting tests that would require taking water samples from homes or businesses.

After getting calls from a number of Oahu residents who said they were approached by people claiming that they were testing the water, board officials sent out a notice today that no such tests are being carried out.

Officials say if members of the public were to be contacted by water supply workers, the workers would be wearing water supply clothing and be driving official vehicles.
