APEC committee is looking for graphic designers

The host committee for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit due to be held in Honolulu in November is looking for graphic designers to create the signs and banners that will guide delegates during the international meeting.

The Hawaii Host Committee said Tuesday it needs firms to create signs and banners that will be displayed at Honolulu International Airport, hotels and meeting areas. It also wants designers to create tour activity brochures, informational flyers, pamphlets and other printed materials.

Committee Chair Peter Ho says the signs are important because they will shape the first impressions APEC delegates develop of Hawaii when they arrive.

Ho says the committee wants any graphic elements showcase Hawaii’s culture and help create a sense of place at meeting areas throughout Waikiki.
