A small fire in a service area of the Kealohilani Tower of the Waikiki Beach Marriott Hotel was put out today largely with an in-house automatic sprinkler system.
The tower on the makai side of the complex was evacuated, but no one was injured.
The fire was reported at 1:40 p.m. and declared under control at 2:11 p.m., fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.
The only damage was to rollaway beds in the service area.
