Prom bling with real sparkle

If diamonds are a girl’s best friend, a made-to-order $14,000 prom dress is going to become a blingy BFF for a few free-spending fashionistas. Online retailer DressGoddess.com has already sold two of the floor-length metallic silver gowns that have hundreds of diamonds hand-sewn onto the bodice. A form-fitting strapless number with a thigh-high slit, the gown also sells for $398, but without the diamonds.

Hats made from plants on display

Hats made from plant materials will be among the spring floral arrangements presented during the Sogetsu Ikebana Exhibition on view tomorrow through Sunday at Neiman Marcus at Ala Moana.

There will be 40 arrangements created by sensei Linda Hamasaki and her students using local plant materials provided by Green Point Nurseries Inc., reflecting the season’s color trends.

The arrangements will grace all three levels of the store, including the first-floor Special Events Room and third-floor Gift Galleries, with the students’ interpretation of entertaining Sogetsu style through creative table settings.

Admission is free. Call 951-8887.
