Police arrested a 44-year-old man after he allegedly struck a pedestrian with a stolen rental car in Waikiki last night.

Police said the person who had rented the car, a 39-year-old woman, denied giving permission for the suspect to drive the car. The suspect was subsequently arrested for unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, and driving without a license or insurance.

There was no word on the condition of the pedestrian.
