Hawaii Bowl will be played on Christmas Eve

The Sheraton Hawaii Bowl will remain on Christmas Eve this year, the game announced today.

Kickoff for the 10th annual game will be 3 p.m. on Dec. 24,  Saturday, at Aloha Stadium, officials said.

The game, which is owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television, is scheduled to be shown on ESPN.

This is the last year the game is expected to match representatives from the Western Athletic Conference and Conference USA since it will be the University of Hawaii’s final year in the WAC before moving to the Mountain West in 2012.

UH has appeared in six of the Hawaii Bowls UH will represent the WAC this year provided the Rainbow Warriors win 7 or more of their 13 games to become bowl eligible. 

"We are very excited to celebrate ‘Ten Years of Aloha!’ as we mark the 10th Anniversary of the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl," said David Matlin, the game’s executive director.
