Hawaii Bowl to remain on Christmas Eve
The Sheraton Hawaii Bowl will remain on Christmas Eve this year, the game announced yesterday.
Kickoff for the 10th annual game will be 3 p.m. on Dec. 24, a Saturday, at Aloha Stadium, officials said.
The game, which is owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television, is scheduled to be shown on ESPN.
This is the last year the game is expected to match representatives from the Western Athletic Conference and Conference USA , since it will be the University of Hawaii’s final year in the WAC before moving to the Mountain West in 2012.
The Warriors have appeared in six of the Hawaii Bowls. UH will represent the WAC this year, provided the Rainbow Warriors win seven or more of their 13 games to become bowl eligible.
"We are very excited to celebrate 10 years of aloha as we mark the 10th anniversary of the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl," said David Matlin, the game’s executive director.
