Rainbows beat Wichita State in 12 innings
Hawaii battled to a 12-inning 8-7 win over Wichita State in a college baseball game Wednesday at Les Murakami Stadium.
The Rainbows scored the winning run, as well as the tying run in the ninth, without a hit.
Kalani Brackenridge drove in the game-winner with a one-out grounder to short with the bases loaded in the 12th, scoring Michael Blake from third.
Lenny Linsky pitched the final 2 2/3 innings for the win.
UH never led until the end of the game. Breland Almadova led the Rainbows’ 13-hit attack with three singles. Sean Montplaisir, Zack Swasey and Garrett Champion each drove in two runs.
Preston Springer had three hits for the Shockers.

Hawaii improved to 12-13 with its first win after four losses in a row. Wichita State fell to 17-9.
The four-game series continues with a game at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
