Textile treasures for sale

Handmade fabric remnants and clothing from around the world dating as far back as the 1930s will be featured at this weekend’s Vintage Textile Sale at the Academy Art Center, 1111 Victoria St. The selection, priced from $1 to $100, includes French brocades, Indian silk saris, handmade lace, kimonos, batiks and Panamanian embroidery. The sale items were donated to the academy over the years but were not added to the museum’s permanent collection. All proceeds will benefit Honolulu Academy of Arts education programs.
